Amazon ships items in a many package types, including the manufacturer's original box. Such a box has labeling that says what's inside. My design messaged the customer within the purchase flow that their item will arrive unconcealed and provided an option to conceal it.
The process involved eliciting requirements from stakeholders, researching customer frustrations upon receipt of an item with no overbox, providing executive management with risks and recommendations, meeting with UX writers throughout the company to hone the messaging, and guiding the design through a CXBR, one of Amazon's design review processes.
